How to Play Mafia!

There are two main teams, the Town and the Mafia.

🏠 Most of the players in the game are part of the Town. Their objective is to vote off ("lynch") all of the Mafia.
🩸 A few players are part of the Mafia. Their objective is to murder all of the Town until the Mafia has majority, while not being discovered by the Town.

The Mafia has the advantage of knowing who each other are, and getting to communicate and kill someone each night, while the Town starts out with significantly more members than the Mafia at the start of the game.

There are two phases, Day and Night.

☀️ During the Day (which lasts for 24 hours in long games), everyone talks together in the #day-chat channel. This is the time for you to debate and figure out who the Mafia are, and vote for them in the #voting channel. (And if you're part of the Mafia, try to blend in with the Town!)
🌙 During the Night (which lasts for 12 hours in long games), the Mafia decide who they want to kill (and certain other roles may also do certain actions).

That's all of the basics, but there's a bit more to it than that!

🔪 In some games, there are also neutral roles, which are not part of the Town or the Mafia and have their own win conditions.
🔍 Most games contain Power Roles, or PRs, which give certain players special abilities. You can read details about these on our website.
📜 The setup, which is the entire list of possible roles in game, will be posted by the narrator at the beginning of each game. In the setup, if you see roles in brackets [like | this], that means one of those roles will be selected at random.
